As owner and manager of Perth Motorplex, VenuesWest has renewed its agreement with the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) for a second year as the sanctioning body for Drag Racing for the 2017/18 racing season.

Wimmera Off-Street Drag Racing Club is hosting a drag event on October 7, 2017. It’s been six years since the last drags event in the Victorian town of Warracknabeal, and the organisers are all pretty excited about it!

ANDRA has launched its second Instagram account with a dedicated page for its Junior Dragster racers. The Summit Racing Equipment Junior Dragster Instagram page is open and live and joins its Facebook page in engaging with the future racers of the sport.

The Australian National Drag Racing Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Grant Hamon to the board, effective immediately.

Over the weekend we received the sad news that former Western Australian ANDRA Divisional Director Shane O’Sullivan had passed away following an illness.

As part of the ongoing effort to increase safety for Competitors on the Drag Strip, Perth Motorplex has permanently installed the Electrimotion Safety Shut Off System as used by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) in the USA.

While some people outside the drag racing world may never have heard of Kelly Bettes, since becoming the quickest and fastest women in Australia, they sure do now! The Bettes name has a long history in the sport of drag racing with Mum Jenny and Dad Steve involved in admin and management, while brother Scott and Kelly started racing in Junior Dragsters.
