John Zappia might have emerged as the winner of the Goldenstates at Perth Motorplex several weeks ago but it came at a cost with bent rods on two separate runs and a close challenge from Scott MacLean.

With only two Group 1 events left on the Australian National Drag Racing Championship calendar, racers are moving into top gear as they seek to gain as many points as they can prior to the season finale - Summit Racing Equipment Drag Racing Grand Finals – at Adelaide International Raceway on March 31^st and April 1^st.

For the Top Alcohol category, the Westernationals will be their second opportunity to gain valuable points in the 2016/17 ANDRA Drag racing Series.

The Australian National Drag Racing Association together with Adelaide DragRace Promotions are pleased to announce that Summit Racing Equipment have taken naming rights sponsorship for the 2016/17 ANDRA Drag Racing Grand Finals.

The beautiful seaside South Coast Raceway at Portland in Victoria has been host to the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars for several years and the 2017 event is shaping up to be the best yet, with a special feature – a father vs son shootout!

The hot conditions at the ANDRA Goldenstates made it difficult for the naturally aspirated cars to run quick, but that still didn’t stop five records broken by the close of the event.

Yep while some watched Danny Green and Anthony Mundine bang each other in the head over 10 rounds, ANDRA Championship drag racing returned to Perth Motorplex with a bang of it’s own. The Goldenstates was back and with championship rounds for Top Doorslammer and Top Fuel Motorcycle. Anticipation was high to see who could run the numbers and who would win in conditions that were best described as hot and sticky. Damian Muscat became the first winner of the event when he dominated the three-round format in Top Fuel Motorcycle.

The 2017 Goldenstates from Perth Motorplex will be live streaming on Saturday February 4th thanks to the Garmin VIRB ANDRA Live Stream.

Ten new records were reset following the 2017 ANDRA Australian Nationals at Calder Park on January 28-29

Calder Park drag racing fans are in for a treat at this weekend. This will be the first appearance in Melbourne for Team Bray’s new Gulf Western Oil sponsorship.

This weekend marks the 51^st running of the ANDRA Australian Nationals. Whilst this iconic event has been held in most states; including Queensland, Western Australia, and New South Wales, its spiritual home has always been Melbourne’s Calder Park Raceway.
