Josh Baker recognised as a Local Sporting Champion
Congratulations to Junior Dragster competitor, Josh Baker, on his recent recognition as a Local Sporting Champion (LSC) for the electorate of Wills in Melbourne’s Northwestern suburbs. Josh was presented with his award by Mr Kelvin Thomson MP (Member for Wills) on Friday, 18th September.
At the awards ceremony, Mr Thomson spoke of Josh’s achievements already in the sport – including the Victorian Divisional Championship in 2014 and his recent win at the Desert Nationals at Alice Springs.
The Local Sporting Champions program is an Australian Government initiative designed to recognise young people aged 12-18 who are competing, coaching or officiating at an official national sporting organisation (NSO) endorsed state, national or international sporting championships or a School Sport Australia state or national championships. Other recipients on the day included Basketballers, Baseballers, Weightlifters, and Junior Footballers.


The 2015 ANDRA Championship Dinner has been rescheduled for Monday November 9 following the East Coast Nationals at Sydney Dragway November 7-8.
