The long awaited opening of Swan Hill Dragway; Australia’s newest quarter mile drag strip in regional Victoria, is edging closer with entries set to open for the Race for Pride on October 8-9th.

Swan Hill Drag Racing Club will team up with Whyalla’s Steel City Drag Club to stage the event featuring Wild Bunch, Supercharged Outlaws, Modified, Super Sedan, Modified Bike, Super Street and Junior Dragster.

“We can’t thank the Whyalla team enough for making the long journey to Swan Hill to show us the ropes,” said Lucas Woodburn.

“This has been a major undertaking by our club and to have a well experienced team like the Steel City crew help guides us through is priceless.

“It will be great to finally get real cars on the track and in the pits to showcase true drag racing to Swan Hill.”

In the week prior to the event the Swan Hill Drag Racing Club will host static displays around town as the countdown begins.

Race for Pride will be staged over the quarter mile with the imminent arrival of the timing system while entry forms and supplementary regulations to be available in the coming days.

Round 8 of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series, the first ever National Championship event to be held at Swan Hill Dragway, is scheduled for 18-19 February 2017.
