Evolve Facility Management – a subsidiary of the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) – has been appointed as the new operator for the Perth Motorplex following an extensive procurement process by venue owner, VenuesWest.

Evolve has signed a multi-year lease agreement for the premier motorsports venue with the Western Australian Government through VenuesWest, which is beginning the transition of operations from today.

The Perth Motorplex will be the first venue operated by an ANDRA company under its newly established Evolve Facilities Management Pty Ltd, which has been specifically created by ANDRA to operate the Perth Motorplex.

To ensure the most effective and dedicated management of the Perth Motorplex under Evolve, experienced motorsport administrator Paul Trengove has been appointed to the position of Commercial and Operations Manager.

Paul, with a long background in Speedway and many years as the Motorsport Operations Manager at The Bend Motorsport Park, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Perth Motorplex with the full support of ANDRA Chief Executive Officer, Brett Stevens, and the ANDRA Board.

“There is no doubt that the Perth Motorplex is one of the world’s truly great motorsport facilities. It is arguably the premier Speedway and Drag Racing venue in the country. We look forward to continuing the legacy put in place by Gary Miocevich 20 years ago,” Stevens said.

“We thank the WA Government, Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray, and the team at VenuesWest who have kept the Perth Motorplex at the forefront of motorsports over the past few years. I know that everyone at ANDRA is very excited to build on that as we move into this promising new era for the venue and for motorsport in WA.”

With the assistance of the experienced Perth Motorplex staff and volunteers, Trengove will be responsible for the management of all aspects of Perth Motorplex event delivery across drag racing, speedway, burnouts and special events such as Motorvation and monster trucks.

“The Perth Motorplex holds a very special place in Australia’s motorsport landscape,” Trengove said.

“I am looking forward to working with the fantastic team of Perth Motorplex staff and volunteers with the support of ANDRA and together, creating the next chapter of the Perth Motorplex’s great success story.”

Western Australian Sport and Recreation Minister, Mick Murray, said he believes the appointment of Evolve as operator under its parent company, ANDRA, will provide assurance to the motorsport community.

“I look forward to another successful year of racing and events at WA’s best motorsports facility,” Minister Murray said.

“ANDRA – Evolve’s parent company – is well known and well respected within the motorsports community, and I trust this appointment will give long term assurance to competitors and motorsports fans.

“I thank VenuesWest for their interim management of the Perth Motorplex throughout the process to secure Evolve as the long-term operator.”

VenuesWest Chief Executive Officer, David Etherton, said he is looking forward to seeing the Motorplex’s success continue.

“We have long maintained that the operations of the Perth Motorplex are best suited to the private sector. We are delighted to welcome Evolve as the new operator of the venue,” Etherton said.

“The appointment of Evolve as the venue operator for the Perth Motorplex will bring certainty to the motorsports community for the future of their sports in WA.

“ANDRA have been sanctioning events at Perth Motorplex for many years and their full support will be placed behind Evolve Facility Management as it moves through this transitional period. They know the venue and the WA motorsports community and will deliver high quality events for competitors and fans.

“The Perth Motorplex has a long and successful history and I look forward to seeing the venue continue to grow under the new operator.”
