ANDRA has confirmed a restructure of the championship format for the Super Stock and Competition Eliminator brackets for the 2026/2027 ANDRA Sportsman Series, in response to member feedback.
ANDRA thanks all competitors who took the time to provide feedback to the Group 2 Super Stock / Competition Eliminator Survey conducted in July, with 27 members completing the survey. The responses have now been reviewed, with several clear themes emerging.
Competitors provided generally positive feedback on the current handicap system, while also highlighting concerns around the number of events in the current format. A common view was that fewer rounds would help deliver stronger car counts at each event, and that Super Stock/Competition Eliminator/Super Comp does not need to contest every round of the ANDRA Sportsman Series.
Survey respondents were also generally supportive of competing under one combined Super Comp Championship while participation numbers rebuild. There was also broad support for a vehicle audit process, along with feedback calling for stronger technical inspections to help ensure compliance proactively, rather than relying on protests.
Following this feedback, the ANDRA Board has endorsed a combined ANDRA Super Comp Championship for 2026/27, with the rulebook updated accordingly. This formalises what has effectively been the case in recent seasons, with rounds having been conducted as Super Comp throughout the year.
ANDRA will continue to review the championship structure in future seasons as competitor numbers grow, with the long-term aim of separating the championships again when appropriate.
In response to competitor feedback, ANDRA has also decided to hold the ANDRA 2026/27 Super Comp Championship over seven rounds only, considering there are also numerous racing opportunities under NDRC and other sanctions.
ANDRA appreciates the support of CADRA/Alice Springs Inland Dragway, Sunraysia Drag Racing Association/Sunset Strip, and South Coast Raceway, who have all agreed to drop Super Comp rounds for this revised structure. This has allowed ANDRA to offer a seven-round championship for Super Comp (as below) taking in the main ANDRA sanctioned quarter-mile events/facilities (Dragway at the Bend, Perth Motorplex, and Sydney Dragway) and one eighth-mile facility (Portland). Two of these will also double as NDRC rounds (Spring Nationals and Westernationals).

“Our focus is on providing a structure that reflects current participation, supports strong racing at each round, and creates a solid platform for future growth in Group 2.
“ANDRA will continue working through broader Group 2 matters with the aim of supporting and growing Group 2 racing, and further updates will be provided as appropriate.”
