At the ANDRA Grand Final at Mildura’s Sunset Strip, Tony Frost and his impressive Suzuki Competition Bike were recognised with the coveted Vinyl Wraps and Graphics Best Presented Award.

“The Frost racing team was pretty stoked when we were notified that we had received the Vinyl Wraps and Graphics Best Presented award at the ANDRA Grand Finals,” Frost said.

“It is really great that Matt Czerny and his company have sponsored this award which recognises the effort that all race teams put into looking the best they can.

“We are very proud to look sharp as a team every time we hit the track. We always try and look uniformed with our whole crew – even the kids – wearing their shirts.

“We like to be as professional as possible and show our sponsors our commitment to that as much as we can.”

The Vinyl Wraps and Graphics Best Presented Award was a welcome bonus on a Grand Finals weekend that proved challenging for the 2018 Summit Racing Equipment Competition Bike Champion.

“Our Suzuki 1294cc Comp Bike has a steel chassis and runs into the high sevens over the quarter-mile and the low five seconds on the eighth mile – it is a good and fun bike, when it is not breaking bits!” he laughed.

“We went into the ANDRA Grand Finals in second place in the points standings, hoping for some good runs and for luck to be on our side.

“Unfortunately we had the bike set up and then the weather changed everything, which saw us completely miss the set-up for the second qualifier while chasing speed and ET to try and qualify high.

“The result was that the bike spun the tyre and bounced hard on the launch and when changing gears. As I went over the finish line, I knew damage had been done but the extent to which we had damaged things didn’t become clear until the next morning.

“We were left with no choice but to pack it up and take it home to start getting ready for the next season, rather than risk causing even more costly damage to the motor.”

While the championship might not have concluded how he had hoped, Frost still has plenty of people he wants to recognise for the parts they played in his title tilt.

“I always have to thank everyone that plays a part in my racing as without my team, sponsors and mates, I couldn’t do what I love to do,” he said.

“To my family – Tracey, Bronwyn and Brock – I really appreciate all of your understanding for all the time I am in the shed or on the road, so thank you.

“To Rick, Jill, Baillee, Catlin and Cody, thank you for the time you guys put in to come away to race tracks – it is greatly appreciated.

“I also must thank my major sponsors – Clint and Danielle of Force Wear Group. Thank you for helping me achieve my goals.

“Thank you also to Trevor and Jen at TBR Racing for all of the time on the phone and in the workshop and all of the advice.

“I would also like to thank Rob and Katie Cassar at Ballistic Performance Parts for their support and all the laughs at the track.”
