The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) is pleased to announce the addition of two new classes to its 2026/2027 Supplementary Rulebook: Pro Street Blown (PS/B) and Pro Street Aspirated (PS/A). These classes have been designed specifically to accommodate vehicles which contest events such as the Street Machine Drag Challenge.
“ANDRA is continually looking for ways to add value and provide better support for our members,” ANDRA Chief Executive Officer, Tim McAvaney, said.
“The introduction of the Pro Street classes creates a dedicated space for the incredible street-registered cars we see at events like Drag Challenge, and we look forward to seeing them on-track at ANDRA-sanctioned events over the coming season.”
The Pro Street designation covers sedan-based vehicles which are street registered through either full registration or club registration (proof of registration is required).
The vehicle must meet the class regulations as laid out in the 2026/2027 Supplementary Rulebook as well as the relevant / current ANDRA Super Sedan or Top Sportsman regulations, using any engine combination with any combination of power adders. The full Super Sedan and Top Sportsman regulations can be found in the ANDRA Rule Book.
The Pro Street classes will compete over the eighth-mile distance utilising a Pro Tree start. While the race format for individual events will be at the discretion of the Event Promoter and/or Meeting Director, ANDRA recommends the All Run Shootout (Chicago Shootout) format for fields up to 16 vehicles, and Elimination format racing for field sizes greater than 16.
While PS/B and PS/A are non-championship classes, they can be run as feature brackets at any ANDRA championship event.
Both classes will be made available so they can hit the track for the first time alongside the ANDRA Regional Sportsman Series at the 2026 Desert Nationals at Alice Springs Inland Dragway (ASID) on August 29 and 30, providing the perfect warm-up opportunity for the following week’s Red CentreNATS at the same venue. The classes will also feature at the 2026 Sunset Nationals in Mildura in September, ahead of Street Machine Drag Challenge.
The updated Supplementary Rulebook can be viewed on the ANDRA website, under the ‘Technical’ drop-down menu. ANDRA members with questions about these new classes should contact technical@andra.com.au
