V8 Supercar fans were recently able to get a taste of even more horsepower at the Telstra 500 in Sydney.
As part of a drag racing exhibition, many teams showed up to take the sport to a largely new and inquisitive audience.
There was a lot of interest in the “fire ups” and the nitro cars certainly grabbed a lot of attention. There was even a parade lap around the circuit that had spectators running from everywhere to see what all the commotion was about on the track.
Many families and kids wanted photos beside and in the cars and bikes and the gaps in between races meant there was a constant flow of people coming through the display area when there was no action on track.
