Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series racers will compete in front of what is expected to be another capacity crowd at Dragway at The Bend today, with the field heading straight into eliminations racing this morning.

As the grand-opening event for Dragway at the Bend, the Spring Nationals has been exceptionally well supported by race fans and all at ANDRA are looking forward to another day of showing the best of Australian drag racing to these enthusiastic supporters.

Seeding for eliminations fields has been completed this morning based on what qualifying runs were able to be completed on Saturday and Friday evening, and eliminations racing is now hitting the track for all Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series competitors. They will race for the honour of being the first to claim a victory at the brand-new facility, with the finals expected to commence from approximately 7.40pm this evening.

While an event win remains on the line for our valued sportsman competitors, the decision has been made in the name of fairness to award a blanket 20 championship points to all group 2, 3 and 4 competitors who have entered this weekend’s event.*

Competitors with questions are invited to email info@andra.com.au

*From a national championship standpoint (only) the event has been abandoned and therefore as per the rule book every competitor who has entered the event will be awarded 20 points. Having completed a pass is not required to be eligible for the 20 points. Racing will continue. No awards, ANDRA Christmas Tree trophies or accompanying points will be awarded, and any mention of specific racers being top qualifiers from previous announcements this weekend should be disregarded and are officially withdrawn
