A few months have lapsed since Reed Racing was on track in Darwin and after a semi-final finish where Reed over powered the track in the tricky conditions of the top end, the team have been analysing the data to come up with a plan to have a consistent 5.50 second car.

Last weekend, Reed Racing took to Willowbank Raceway with a freshened racecar to do some testing with the focus on achieving that consistent fast car.

“Of the three planned shut off test runs only one had the dreaded tyre shake and the other two would have been between 5.58-5.62 seconds,” said Reed.

The team feel they may be close to the combination to stay fast and consistent heading into the season finale Australian Nationals in Sydney October 31 – November 2.

But before heading to Sydney, Reed Racing will make a pit stop at the Gold Coast 600 to entertain V8 Supercars fans.

“It is a privilege that we have been invited to participate in a drag racing demonstration at the Gold Coast 600 on the Friday night.

“We are pleased to showcase our sport but it’s also a win for our sponsors Allstar Batteries and our associate sponsors ACDelco Batteries, Nulon, Jack Bros Engineering, Champion Spark Plugs and Mobile Flywheel Grinding.”

Once the chequered drops on the Gold Coast, Reed will make his way to Sydney where Gary Phillips will be looking to wrap up his 17th Australian Top Alcohol Championship.

But with an X-Champs win at the same venue in May, Reed plans to make it difficult as he chases a top three Championship finish.

“I have my sights set on a top three finish on the Top Alcohol Championship leaders board and providing that fast consistent race car comes to fruition, this is well with in reach for our team.”

Titles will be decided and Champions will be crowned at the Australian Nationals on October 31 – November 2 at Sydney Dragway.
