Noonan Race Engineering is expanding its USA operations with the purchase of a new facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The new location will boast the latest in state of the art advancements in both machinery and management practices and will be headed up by Noonan Chief Executive Officer and Engine Builder Jamie Noonan and his wife and business partner Renee Noonan.

For the past 12 months, Jamie has lived part-time in the States while Renee has managed the Australian operation. Now, they and their family will relocate permanently to South Carolina from July 2017, leaving the Australian arm of operations in the care of new Operations Manager, Dan Case.

The entire Hemi and LS engine programs will now be manufactured in the USA, with the transition of the cylinder heads and manifold program by the end of the year.

“We are so excited to be taking this next step with the Noonan Race Engineering business, cementing our place in the USA marketplace with a facility that takes us into the future,” Jamie Noonan said.“

At the same time, our Australian headquarters will remain in full operation, concentrating on special projects, research and development, and prototyping.

“As part of this expansion we will welcome a number of highly skilled personnel to our team both in Australia and the United States, and we look forward to sharing more information about these appointments shortly.

”The expansion comes 12 months after Noonan made its first steps into the US market at its Utah facility, which was initially set up purely for Noonan’s engine block program and repair and servicing.

“We have experienced a steep learning curve over the past 12 months, learning to do business in other countries and adapting to the culture, working with a new US-based team, developing new supplier relationships, dealing with the sales fallout amidst the uncertainty of the US election, and the time difference between our US and Australian bases,” Noonan explained.

“There were times when we thought about returning to a sole Australian base, but in December we were able to secure the 2016 NHRA Top Alcohol World Championship. Consequently, we were able to launch new product lines, which saw our sales expectations exceed overnight.

“This turnaround has allowed us to take these exciting steps forward enabling us to expand our growth, boasting the latest state of the art machinery to deliver controlled production for on-time delivery to customers.

“In addition, we are introducing a state of the art Corporate Technology system to manage ISO9001 compliance, as well as lean and six sigma manufacturing processes to ensure all facets of the business are managed in the best, most innovative way possible.”
