One of Australian drag racing’s most exciting events is back on the calendar with Sydney Dragway promising to make the 2015 Nitro Champs one of the best ever held at the Sydney venue.
Sydney Dragway General Manager Luke Smith also confirmed a full line-up of categories including every ANDRA Drag Racing Series and Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series class featuring in the revamped event.
“We will have every ANDRA category at the event, including all of the group 1 classes as well as every Sportsman bracket. That means a huge field of racers from right around Australia.
“The entertainment factor is something that we are trying to emphasise in all of our events at Sydney Dragway and the Nitro Champs is about as entertaining as it gets! It will be a weekend full of non–stop action packed racing for the fans in the stands.”
Smith continued “We are also very proud to confirm that the venue will be paying 100% prize money payouts for this event. It’s what we have been aiming for and it’s fantastic for our competitors and great for our venue.”
The Nitro Champs has traditionally boasted the season’s best weather conditions for racing and massive entry lists, with 400 teams attending the event.
This event is also the penultimate round for many racers competing in the shortened 2015 season, which will make the Nitro Champs critical to the championship chase.
The Nitro Champs will run on the first weekend of May (2-3) at Sydney Dragway.
