Spinozzi Racing has re-signed Michael Marriott as the team’s crew chief for the next 18 months. Michael’s original contract was for the 2014 ANDRA Championship season.

With the decision to return to the financial year calendar for 2015/16, Spinozzi Racing felt it was best to have things in place for the next 18 months,

“I’m ecstatic with the results that we have posted in the last 12 months since Michael has joined the team,” said Spinozzi Racing co-team owner and driver Emilio Spinozzi.

“The new Camaro has been extremely hard work and has had its gremlins; I think ‘Michael has shaken them out now.

“It’s a combination of both set up and power and that’s why Rino Conte at RC Performance Engines is always working hard on our engine, in house cylinder head and manifold development program.

“Pro Stock is a tough class and is forever moving forward. The 6.87 and 200 mph posted by Lee Bektash just goes to show how hard the other teams are working.

“At the recent Nationals the teams that were not there at the top and are regularly in the top five will be working hard to get back there and this is what makes Pro Stock so exciting.”

Michael was of the same opinion regarding the team’s performance.

“First of all I want to thank Emilio and Adamo Spinozzi for giving me the opportunity to return to the team next season,” he said.

“I feel that we have worked well as a team and we’re extremely happy with the results. This has been a season of innovation and learning.

“Adamo and I have been working on a unique clutch program. Mark Menscer made the trip out recently for the season ending Nationals at Sydney Dragway to assist with the shock absorber program.

“Rino Conte has provided the power which has enabled the team to become the quickest Chevy powered Pro Stock team and 2nd quickest car in the country.”

2014 was a solid season for Spinozzi Racing with a runner up spot at the X-Champs and consistently quick times including a 6.975, Fuchs Winternationals, a then Australian record until later that weekend. The team then went on to become the quickest Chev powered team in the country with a 6.937.

Spinozzi Racing thanked their sponsors and supporters, Terra Civil, Hitachi Construction Machinery, Sydney Truck Centre, Sloane built Trailers, Soligo Concrete, Kemps Creek Mitre 10, Western Filters, Motorsport Database, Pasta Italia, Optimum Fire, Al’s Race Glides, Smithfield Diff and Gear, VP Racing Fuels, Brasswell Carburetion, Leanders Clutches, Menscer motorsports, Street Car Fabrication, Proforce Motorsports and Corfield Media Solutions for their continued support of the team.
