Even though the Jason Hedges Racing (JHR) team may not have walked away with the win Saturday night (April 9th), the team did manage to maintain their third place in the points. The main goal that has been set by the JHR team is to finish within the top three in the championship for the 2010/2011 season.

During Qualifying on Friday night, weather conditions were optimum for the ‘Factory Hot Rods’. The JHR team qualified in the ninth position with a time of (7.143/191.13), however, due to Lee Bektash damaging his engine during the third and final qualifying session and not being able to make the show on Saturday for eliminations, the JHR team would start in the eighth qualifying position and would equate to a first round match with Chris Soldatis.

“The JHR team was looking to be a little better qualified than the eighth position. We tested several weeks prior to the event and the data showed us that we could have ran about a 7.09 or 7.10, however, we just weren’t able to get the setup figured out for the early part of the racetrack,” explained Jason Hedges, team owner and driver Jason Hedges Racing (JHR).

In the first round match up with Chris Soldatis, the JHR team managed to take the win with a time of (7.205/190.97) to Soldatis’ (12.143/73.15), which then would setup a clash of the teammates in the second round with Jason Hedges and Aaron Tremayne going head-to-head.

Hedges knew that this was going to be nothing short of a stout match up and hence Hedges needed to be on his game on the tree. Unfortunately JHR’s weekend came to a close when Jason went -.006 red on the start line, whilst Aaron was .007 on the tree. Nonetheless, the fans were treated to a great race with Aaron recording low elapsed time of eliminations with a (7.099/191.19) to Hedges’ (7.136/191.24).

“That run proved why Aaron has had the number one on his car for the last three consecutive seasons and is well on his way to making it four years in a row. That was actually the first time that we had ever raced in competition. It was a great race for all concerned,” said Hedges.

The JHR team will now prepare for the second last round of the 2010/2011 ANDRA Pro Series calendar – the 2011 Nitro Champs.

JHR would like to thank sponsors: DecoGlaze® Glass Splashbacks, J&D Custom Cabinetry, Corfield Media Solutions, Tremaniac Racing and Blazin Belltech Trailer Products for their continued support of the team.
