The Lamattina Top Fuel Racing Team ended a spectacular racing weekend disappointed after finishing runner up in Round 4 of the Andra Pro Series at Perth Motorplex.
The team historically has won twelve rounds in WA, after this weekend has made the second time they have gone home defeated.
The team was in fine form for Sunday’s eliminations. Round one saw the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster up against Andrew Cowin. Phil Lamattina blasted off defeating Cowin with a 4.82 second pass. Second round against Phil Read had the multitude of fans in disbelief with the first time in Andra Pro Series history, 4.806 to a 4.808 pass with the LTFR team taking victory.
The finals brought the two Sunraysia drivers head to head. Darren Morgan took the win after the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster smoked the tyres half way down the track.
