The Ipswich economy is about to a get a big boost thanks to some serious world-class horsepower in the form of the 44th Castrol EDGE Winternationals event at Willowbank Raceway.

The Castrol EDGE Winternationals is an entertainment extravaganza held annually across the Queen’s Birthday weekend from June 10-13 and is expected to provide an economic injection of millions of dollars into the South East Queensland region.

Sport Minister Phil Reeves was joined by the local member for Ipswich West, Wayne Wendt and Ipswich City Council Sports, Parks and Recreation Chairperson Cr David Morrison to witness ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel Championship leader – Darren Morgan’s 8000 horsepower dragster fire up in front of Parliament House.

Also at Parliament House, local member for Ipswich West, Wayne Wendt said they were looking forward to seeing some of the 40,000 expected spectators in and around the Ipswich area over the coming Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale is a long time supporter of Willowbank Raceway and will be at the Castrol EDGE Winternationals enjoying the festivities.
