Visit Hungry Jacks in Mildura for a DMR Flame-Grilled Special right throughout 2011*
Darren Morgan Racing will be celebrating the announcement that Hungry Jacks has extended it’s major associate partnership with the DMR Top Fuel team at Mildura’s Sunset Strip this Easter. The familiar logo will adorn the AEG Powertools Dragster over the final two events of the ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel Championship.
Morgan will make two runs at the Mildura Powersports Easter Shootout this coming Saturday night. Last year, the current Australian Top Fuel Championship leader set the quickest 1/8th mile pass in Australia with a time of 3.391 at 224mph.
With recent improvements to the Mildura Sunset Strip, Morgan is hoping that he can get his 8000 horsepower Hungry Jacks missile down the track in the style that has seen him take out the last two ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel Championship rounds.
Not only will it be a chance for Morgan to give home town fans and sponsors the thrill of a lifetime – Top Fuel at full flight in their own backyard – it gives the team an opportunity to set up for the penultimate round of the Australian Top Fuel Championship the following weekend at the Nitro Champs in Sydney.
Morgan currently leads the Championship on 478 points, some 122 ahead of fellow Victorian, Phil Lamattina with two events to go. Crew Chief, Ben Patterson is quietly confident that on current form, the Championship could be heading back to Mildura after Sydney.
The local event really gives Morgan the chance to interact closely with locally based sponsors such as Hungry Jacks, who’s Mildura franchise manager, Greg Stephens has been instrumental in bringing the company to DMR.
Morgan – being the proud Mildura resident he is – loves the opportunity to perform in front of appreciative locals.
The Hungry Jacks Mildura team will load up from the Easter Shootout and immediately head north for the Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway. They will be running in AEG colours in Sydney, but will have Hungry Jacks adorning the front of the machine for the rest of the year.

“This event is an icon in Mildura, every Easter, it’s become tradition to head out to the Sunset Strip.
“Top Fuel in itself is such a spectacle, so to take the Hungry Jacks Mildura car to the Sunset Strip and fire it down the track is a great experience for everybody. We love having everyone come down and check out the car and really feel a part of it.
“We’re only a small budget team, so to have someone like Hungry Jacks at a local level come on board and help us out, means a lot. We’re always working hard to ensure the sponsors we have on board are looked after well.
“The team and I are very proud that we can now say Hungry Jacks is supporting us as an official partner and will be on the car for the remainder of the ANDRA Top Fuel season. Greg Stephens – who is the local Hungry Jacks man – has really pushed the barrow for us and we have to thank him for his support.
