THE TEAM at Stuart Bishop Racing hopes of qualifying have been dashed as they are listed eleventh in an eighteen-car field at the Westernationals at Perth Motorplex Saturday night in the fastest ever in Australia, Doorslammer field.

“We had made some changes to the cars brake system before coming to the round. This gave us a great opportunity to test and gain consistency ” explained Stuart Bishop. “ With our First run, there wasn’t enough clutch which shook on the first gear but we still ran a 6.41 second pass. Our second pass had a little too much clutch, which then in turn went into smoke. The last qualifier, we read the track conditions well running a 6.12 second pass. Unfortunately all other teams read the track conditions just as well with some very low second passes with a 6.06 second bump spot”.

The Diamond Doorslammer has encountered cracked engine mounts as a result from the first round ceasing any chances of any exhibition passes during eliminations due to safety.

Stuart Bishop welcomed guests from Mack Trucks and Hardy Brothers Jewellers into the Diamond Lounge over the weekend. “The guests have been treated to a first hand look into what goes on behind the scenes. They have really enjoyed the hospitality that has been provided for them through in pit dining and team tours”. Concluded Stuart Bishop.

Stuart Bishop racing will be ready to compete at Round Five of ANDRA Pro Series Drag Racing at Sydney Dragway March 18 & 19.   For more information please check www.sydneydragway.com.au.
