More than 330 entries have already been received for Australia’s largest drag racing event, the FUCHS Winternationals, eight weeks out from the 8-11 June 2012 outing at Willowbank Raceway.

With weeks still to go until entries close, more than 50% of the expected ANDRA Pro Series entrants and 68% of the expected Rocket Allstars Racing Series entrants have put their hands up and are getting the jumpstart on their preferred pit allocations.

Willowbank Raceway managing director Steve Bettes said early entries had been encouraged by the new early bird entry concept introduced for 2012.

“The next stage of our early entry concept closes on 30 April 2012 at 3.00pm so those who haven’t already entered should get in quick to receive their discount,” said Bettes.

One racer who has already set his FUCHS Winternationals campaign in motion is reigning Top Fuel champion Darren Morgan.

“We haven’t been able to really get after it due to track conditions so far this season, so we cannot wait to get to Willowbank Raceway for the FUCHS Winternationals,” said Morgan.

“The cooler conditions combined with the atmosphere the event is famous for and the pointy end of the championship chase will combine to make it a fantastic event and we are sure we are going to run some really fast times.

“It is exciting to be able to get down to business and give it a red hot crack, and with a season worth of data and the new car teething issues well behind us, we are confident we can put on an amazing show for the fans and our supporters including AEG.”

Morgan and his fellow Top Fuel drivers will be joined on track by Top Alcohol, Top Doorslammer, Top Bike, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle racers as well as competitors from the Rocket Allstars Racing Series.

“The FUCHS Winternationals are shaping up to be an amazing four days, with our new naming rights sponsor working closely with us to make this event bigger and better than ever before,” said Bettes.

“Planning is at fever pitch and you can see all the information you need including ticket prices and draft schedules by heading to our website www.willowbankraceway.com.au or finding us on Facebook.”

Across 8-11 June 2012 Willowbank Raceway will host the 45th running of Australia’s largest drag racing event, with the FUCHS Winternationals to feature the final rounds of both the ANDRA Pro Series and the Rocket Allstars Racing Series.

The action will not be confined to the quarter-mile however, with family entertainment, trade shows and plenty of action in pit lane for the whole family.

Tickets start from just $20 with students (with ID) able to access discounted entry and children 13 and under enjoying free admission.
