The Perth Motorplex was bristling with horsepower on Australia Day as over 80 teams took the public holiday as an opportunity to prepare for this weekend's ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel event.

Adding to the on track hype was the sight of several Top Fuel teams transporters arriving and moving into their positions for the weekend while racing was happening.

Two teams that arrived earlier to particiapte in the Test day was the Cowin Family Rocket Industries/Aeroflow car and the debut of the Sheehan Racing Top Fuel Dragster tuned by USA’s John Smith.

Cowin set the pace early with a 3.45 660′ leading to a 4.91/484kmh (301mph) run that gave the team a base line for the weekend.

Later in the afternoon the yellow and black dragster rocketted (pun intended) to a quicker half track ET of 3.31 seconds before the supercharger belt flew off leaving the car to coast accross the line in only 5.4 seconds.

Sheehan meanwhile was working towards obtaining his crossover licence from Nitro Funny Car to Top Fuel and completed the half track componant easily with a spectacular 3.36 second 660′ time.

There were PB’s everywhere and the majority of teams would have gone home happy.

Don’t miss this weekends ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel event with a record 8 Top Fuel dragsters entered and over 260 drag racing teams including 44 supercharged teams in K Trans Top Comp and Mobil 1 Supercharged Outlaws.
