Following an ANDRA Board meeting on the weekend, Liam Waldron has been officially appointed as chairman of the Board with Greg Griffith the deputy chairman.

Dr Waldron, director of Waldron Solutions Pty Ltd and a lecturer with the Australian National University, has quickly come to terms with the world of drag racing, while bringing in a strategic point of view to activities.

Mr Griffith, CEO of the Dairy Farmer Milk Co-operative, has also brought valuable experience in business to the ANDRA Board, the remainder of which comprises racer and track representatives.

ANDRA CEO Greg Humphreys said the Board was encouraged to take on a strategic point of view for the sport of drag racing, with the outside experience of Dr Waldron and Mr Griffith able to help focus it on important activities.

“ANDRA is the racers’ organisation and there is plenty of representation of the views of drag racers from sportsman to professional levels,” he said. “Liam and Greg have been of great value in their time so far on the board in helping bring an external point of view, which is something the sport must encourage.

“The Board needs to be about the ‘big picture’, directing the growth strategy of the sport of drag racing and managing the operational functions.”
