The Willowbank Raceway Board has announced the appointment of long-time racer and successful business operator Greg Leahy to its ranks.

Leahy is the owner of Geezer’s Imports – an ISO9001 compliant Federal Government RAW (Registered Automotive Workshop) approved workshop for the import, conversion and sale of late model US vehicles as well as US classic and muscle cars. 

He is also well-known in drag racing circles for his own racing exploits and as the son of the late Roly Leahy – a well-known stalwart of the nostalgia drag racing scene both in Australia and the United States.

Drag racing veteran and long-time Willowbank Raceway Board member Steve Reed has announced his decision to step down from the Board after 15 years.

Since joining the Pro Modified scene in the US, Paul Mouhayet and the Moits Racing Team turbocharged Mustang have been turning heads wherever they go.

The most recent trip to the Street Car Super Nationals X in Las Vegas yielded a boosted full-bodied door-car world record of 273.39 mph in a 5.637 second loss. And Mouhayet says the car will only get better.

“Honestly each and every pass feels strong and the consistency is solid, so it’s difficult to ascertain the slight variances between each run,” he said.

Spinozzi Racing has re-signed Michael Marriott as the team’s crew chief for the next 18 months. Michael’s original contract was for the 2014 ANDRA Championship season.

With the decision to return to the financial year calendar for 2015/16, Spinozzi Racing felt it was best to have things in place for the next 18 months,
