Defending Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series Junior Dragster Champion Jake Berias is looking to make the most of his final season in the Junior category.

The 17-year-old is currently in contention for back to back titles ahead of the postponed ANDRA Grand Finals, courtesy of two event victories.

“It has felt a bit different this season, because being the reigning champion makes you feel that you need to bring your A-Game to every race meeting,” Berias said.

“Being up in the points this year has really helped my confidence and makes me believe I can go back to back this season.

“If I could go back to back it really would be a dream come true for me.”

The season has certainly gone well so far for Berias, for who the 2019/2020 season will be his last in the Junior category due to his age.

“Winning two events this season (Sunset Strip Nationals and South Coast 660) has definitely helped me in terms of the championship and has also helped me feel that my last year in juniors has been well worth it,” he said.

“I would like to thank my family for all of their support, not just this year but across all of my racing.

“I would also like to thank my sponsors, Harley Heaven Melbourne, Werribee South Farm Supplies, D Berias & Sons and LT Egg Farms.”
