The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) will soon be recruiting for new independent board members, following the departure of Grant Hamon and Grant Wilson from the board.

“Grant Hamon and Grant Wilson have served as part of our board for a number of years, and I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank them for their service and their contribution to the sport of ANDRA drag racing,” ANDRA Caretaker CEO, Ian Brown, said.

The ANDRA Board is a representative body which is elected by the members and approves rules and regulations and sets the direction and activities of ANDRA for the betterment, safety and development of the most powerful motorsport on the planet.

A search is now underway to fill the two now empty positions on the ANDRA board alongside currently sitting board members Nathan Peirano (Chairman, QLD), Murray O’Connor (WA), Paul Stephen (NSW), Katie Cassar (VIC) and Ian Brown (VIC).

“We are going to use this opportunity to bring some ‘new blood’ into the board,” Brown said.

“While we are sad to see Grant Hamon and Grant Wilson depart, ANDRA is committed to turning this into an opportunity to recruit, rebuild and refresh with a view to setting strategy for the organisation to grow and move forward.

“With 50 years of history behind it, ANDRA is a storied organisation with a bright future, and the ANDRA board is committed to ensuring that we move into the future in the most successful way possible, ensuring the strength of ANDRA drag racing for another 50 years.”

Advertising for the board positions will commence after the Easter break.
