Featuring 13 points-paying events across the five states, the new season opens with an Alice Springs double in August and concludes with a two-day Grand Final in April 2027

The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) is pleased to release the complete ANDRA Regional Sportsman Series calendar for the 2026/2027 season.

Featuring 11 championship rounds and 13 points-paying events, the season opens with a double-header in Alice Springs in August 2026 and concludes with a two-day Grand Final in at Dragway at the Bend in April 2027.

The action kicks off at the Alice Springs Inland Dragway (ASID) with the previously confirmed Desert Nationals on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30. As an added bonus, Desert Nationals competitors will also receive complimentary entry to the (non-championship) Red CentreNATS, being held the following weekend.

From the Northern Territory, the series heads to regional Victoria, with the Sunset Strip in Mildura to host the juniors-only Junior Nationals (September 11–13) followed by the all-brackets Sunset Nationals the very next weekend (September 19–20).

October will then feature both the bikes-only All Bike Nationals (October 10) and the Spring Nationals (October 22–25) at South Australia’s Dragway at The Bend, with the latter also serving as the 2026 season finale for the NDRC’s Group One and Aeroflow Sportsman title chases.

In November, competitors will get their first of three opportunities to race on the new surface at the Perth Motorplex with the Goldenstates set to return to its traditional late-November timeslot (November 20–21).

The attention of the ANDRA drag racing community will then turn to South Coast Raceway in Portland (Victoria) to close out the calendar year and open the next, with both the South Coast Nationals (December 5–6) and South Coast 660 (January 2–3) set to bring plenty of exciting racing to the coastal venue.

The second half of the season will then continue in high stakes fashion, first with the return of the ANDRA Drag Racing Masters at Sydney Dragway on January 23 following its successful debut in 2026, with this event to be held over a single thrilling day/night program.

The series will then head back to Western Australia, for two marquee events in what is already shaping up as the biggest week in Australian drag racing: a yet-to-be-named event on February 19-20 will be followed by the renowned Westernationals on February 27-28.

The season will then conclude with an epic grand final weekend, as the ANDRA Grand Finals take over Dragway at The Bend – this time across two huge days on April 23–24.

“We are thrilled to release this exciting calendar to the ANDRA drag racing community,” ANDRA Chief Executive Officer, Tim McAvaney, said.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we navigated the complex process of putting this schedule together, and we believe it presents a host of exceptional racing opportunities across the country. The way the tracks are co-operating together on the wider calendar through the Australian Drag Racing Promotions Association (ADRPA) has been exceptional.”

“Across 11 events in the NT, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, and New South Wales – and with 13 points-paying rounds in total – the ANDRA Sportsman Series is set to reach new heights in the 2026/2027 season, and we can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.”

Perth Motorplex General Manager Gavin Migro teased that there are exciting announcements in the pipeline for Perth’s back-to-back action in February 2027.

“We could not be more excited to host three ANDRA series events on the Perth Motorplex calendar this season,” Migro said.

“That is especially true when we look at the two massive, back-to-back weekends in February – while I can’t say a lot right now, what I can promise you is it is going to be epic; and the biggest eight days of drag racing for the season for sure.

“We have some exciting plans in the works for these events on our new surface, and we look forward to sharing those details with you all in the near future.”
