Junior Dragster racer Ava Walker has broken through for not only her first ANDRA Christmas Tree at the weekend’s South Coast Nationals, but also the first for the Walker Family Racing team.
15-year-old Walker took the win at South Coast Raceway for round five of the 2025/2026 ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship over runner-up Todd Wagner.
“It came down to a nail biting final race against Todd,” Walker explains.
“After a pair of very close lights, it was decided at the stripe by just 0.004 of a second in my favour after running a spectacular 7.972 on a 7.97 dial in.
“It is definitely a very special moment in not only mine by my entire family’s life, as the first ANDRA Christmas Tree for Walker Family Racing.
“It truly means the world to me to finally be able to hold my first Tree high!”
“I would like to thank my family for supporting me and my dreams, Glow Heating Cooling and Electrical, Daikin, Corey Read for recently rebuilding my motor, all the South Coast Raceway officials and ANDRA for yet again another amazing event. Until next time!”
Walker now looks ahead to the South Coast 660 – round six of the ANDRA series which will be held at South Coast Raceway on January 2-3, 2026. While she won’t be racing herself at this event, it will be a particularly important event for her family.
“I can’t wait for the South Coast 660,” Ava said.
“We have something a bit different coming out of Walker Family Racing, with my older brother (17 years old) Lachlan Walker recently gaining his Supercharged Outlaws license.
“We are all looking forward to cheering him on at the 660, in his first competitive event in his new SCO car.”
