PHILLIPS CLAIMS BONUS POINTS HAT-TRICK!
6 January 2011
Gary Phillips has claimed his third straight "top speed" and second straight "low elapsed time" from a rain ravaged third round of ANDRA Pro Series Top Alcohol last weekend and despite the event not reaching eliminations status, the Lucas Oils Team bagged every bonus point on offer.
With only the three rounds of qualifying completed before rain spoiled the weekend, Phillips had enough strong runs on the board to claim the 5.643 low elapsed time, 253.90mph top speed and top qualifying bonus points and despite the oppressive heat and humidity, the top qualifying pass was one-tenth of a second quicker than the number 2 spot. This afforded him the chance to gain eleven points on current series leader, Aaron Hambridge.

The World's Quickest Commodore will return to the Perth Motorplex this weekend, with the aim to bounce back from a two month stretch that Maurice Brennan will file away as "character building."
Everyone in the country and many overseas would be aware of the huge floods in Queensland. An area the size of New South Wales has been flooded with a number of towns isolated, underwater or both. Nearly one hundred ANDRA racers live in the worst affected areas and the thoughts of their fellow competitors across the land are with them.

Qualifying become the most important part of the weekend for ANDRA Pro Series teams when weather brought an early close to race day at Willowbank Raceway’s first New Year Series round last Sunday.

Rob Pilkington has continued his good start to the WA Top Comp Championship as he took a runner up position in the Force Equipment/Alutech Funny Car at Perth Motorplex on December 26.

Robin Judd is hopeful a new partnership will help him regain the (Australian National Drag Racing Association) ANDRA Pro Series Top Doorslammer championship lead at Willowbank Raceway, Ipswich, on January 14-15.
