This Sunday, April 3rd see's the number one Sport Compact drag racing show in the land, Jamboree Sydney, explodes onto Sydney Dragway with the world's fastest imports battling for the win and Jamboree glory. 1000hp fours, 1500hp rotaries and 2000hp six-cylinders will battle it out down the quarter mile.

During next weekend's Shannon's Queensland Auto Spectacular there will be a healthy vein of competition running through the Willowbank Raceway grounds, with a wheel changing competition set to pit the enthusiasts against each other in a race for prizes and bragging rights.

Over 80 teams made their way to Whyalla in South Australia’s mid north for the final round of the 2010/2011 Max Cranes Tri Series last weekend.

This season’s series opened last November at the Sunset Strip in Mildura, and then moved to the famed vineyards of Coonawarra near Naracoorte in the south-east of South Australia for Round Two in January.

At a Special General Meeting in Adelaide this morning, the vote to change the Australian National Drag Racing Association Inc to a company limited by guarantee was supported by over 97 percent of those voting. Members from four states were present at the meeting and hundreds of Proxy Voting Forms were processed under the scrutiny of the Returns Officer.

Two forty-year old Australian drag racing legacies collided last weekend as fifteen time national champion Gary Phillips celebrated four decades in the sport at the 40th Annual Westernationals at the Perth Motorplex.

Turn back the clock forty years, and on opposite sides of the nation, two drag racing icons were being birthed simultaneously, with the advent of a young apprentice radio and television technician from Townsville taking his first looks at the quarter mile on the eastern seaboard, while a courageous group of racers in the west were at the same time forming a fledgling event that would be boldly titled "The Westernationals."

Top Fuel drag race team, Rapisarda Racing and driver, Terry Sainty, will start an odyssey this weekend that will see the Sydney-based team and driver race at two events on two continents in seven days.

Sainty and multiple Australian championship-winning Rapisarda Racing/Titan Cranes team will start their epic journey this Friday and Saturday (March 25-26), racing in round five of the 2010-2011 (Australian National Drag Racing Association) ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel championship at Willowbank, Ipswich.
