The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) wishes to advise its members that Nathan Peirano has resigned from his position of Chair of both the ANDRA and Evolve Facility Management (Perth Motorplex) Boards.

While having resigned from the positions of Chair, ANDRA is pleased to report Peirano will remain as an important member of both Boards, but without having to balance the heavy daily workload the Chair is responsible for across two Boards with his daily working life. He will also remain as the Northern Australia Divisional Director, a position he has held since March of 2015.

Since 2017, Peirano has steadfastly led ANDRA through challenging times, including COVID, insurance and sanctioning challenges, and industry disruptions.

With ANDRA’s Annual General Meeting to soon be called for a date in January, interim Chairs have been elected, with Katie Cassar (ANDRA) and Murray O’Connor (Evolve) being elected by the current members of each Board to lead the organisations over the next two months.

“ANDRA thanks Nathan for his leadership as ANDRA Chair since 2017 and Evolve Facility Management Chair since the establishment of the Evolve Facility Management Board in late 2020,” ANDRA Chief Executive Officer, Tim McAvaney, said.

“I have really enjoyed working with Nathan over my short time with ANDRA. His knowledge and passion for the sport is undeniable, and I am glad he will remain on the Board, further impacting positively for our sport.”

“The workload of two Boards is enormous and I thank Katie and Murray for stepping in and taking on the Chair roles for the ANDRA and Evolve Facility Management Boards respectively in this interim period ahead of our upcoming AGM. I am excited to be working with them more closely.”

Permanent elections for the ANDRA and Evolve Facility Management Board Chair positions will be held after the AGM, which has been postponed from its usual date in November to January 2024 at the request of the Auditor.

ANDRA is working with the Auditor to determine an appropriate date in January and will provide ANDRA members with the required 21 days’ notice period in due course.

Vacant Board positions will be filled over the next two months, following the resignations of Ian Brown and Paul Rogers Junior earlier in the year. The Chairs of both Boards will then be ratified by the respective full Boards.
