On behalf of the ANDRA Board and staff, I would like to wish all members a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday season!

2023 has been a difficult year for ANDRA and a year of change.

Change can be a difficult thing to accept in any part of life and we have found this to be a challenge in Drag racing.

While I have only been at ANDRA for six months, the dynamic nature has meant there has not been enough time spent on strategic planning and stability has been difficult to attain.

One of the main challenges has been our insurance cover.

While ANDRA has a long-standing relationship with our insurance underwriter, costs have still increased and are difficult to sustain. However we are the only sanctioning body with reputable cover in place. That is because ANDRA has never dropped its standards and has stayed true to our values.

We will continue to work diligently for new tracks to join ANDRA by offering a solution that is fair and reasonable. This is the key to unifying the sport once again.

To achieve this, ANDRA must continue to add value, to tracks and to our members.

That will be our focus in 2024, to demonstrate that ANDRA is there for the stakeholders for the good of the sport.

There will be more change in 2024, no doubt.

In the meantime, I would like to send a special thanks to the volunteers and officials who are the backbone of ANDRA and continue to devote their time and energy. We couldn’t do it without you.

My hope for the new year is that together we can enjoy our great sport, embrace it, and have fun.

Merry Christmas and I hope to see you at the races in the new year.

Sincerely,

Tim McAvaney
