Mildura drag racer Kingsley Kuchel may be relying on some warp drive speed when his swooping dragster beams down to Fuchs South Coast Raceway, Portland on January 5 and 6 for the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship.

Kuchel’s unique race car, competing in the Modified class, has been compared to a UFO and even the Batmobile by young race fans, something the 29 year old takes as a compliment.

The return of championship drag racing to Victoria is imminent with the running of the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship at Fuchs South Coast Raceway, Portland on January 5-6.

Queensland local Steven Ham will be making the 12 hour journey to Sydney Dragway next weekend to compete in round five of the Rocket Allstars Racing Series.

Ham has a bunch of RARS points to his credit but plans on using the Sydney meeting as a testing ground for the East Coast Lubes/Mobil 1 Top Alcohol Funny Car.
