A near perfect weekend for defending Motorplex Track Champion, Rob Pilkington has netted a pair of National records  and a vital points haul to put him right back in the title fight, but the Oakford based racer is refusing to take the credit.

Fuchs South Coast Raceway in Portland will play host to the first round of the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship on January 4 and 5, 2014 and giving the event some old school style will be New South Wales’ Allison Stewart and South Australian Mark Hunt.

Dale Duffy won the final 60foot Rising Star Award for the season at the Australian Nationals, a fitting reward to go alongside his event win.

Queensland brother and sister Scott Bettes and Kelly Corbett were part of an Australian-first at Sydney Dragway’s Australian Nationals when they lined up against each other in the final for the Modified bracket.

Friday qualifying for the Australian Nationals saw many racers in the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship bettering national records as fields were set ahead of the start of Saturday eliminations.
