In just over two weeks the second event for the 2010/2011 Perth Motorplex Drag Racing season two of Australia's Top Fuel champions - Phil Lamattina in the Fuchs Lubricants Top Fuel Dragster and Darren Morgan in the AEG Top Fuel Dragster will compete in a match race format. Mildura's Darren Morgan has maintained his points lead in the 2010/11 Australian Top Fuel Championship in what was a hard fought battle at Round 2 of the ANDRA Pro Series last weekend at Sydney Dragway. Under threatening skies, that luckily failed to produce any rain, the AEG Powertools, Darren Morgan Racing (DMR) Top Fuel Dragster came up short in their semi final run after dropping cylinders early against local hero Terry Sainty.

DETROIT - (AP) — Pontiac, whose muscle cars drag-raced down boulevards, parked at drive-ins and roared across movie screens, is going out of business on Sunday. The 84-year-old brand, moribund since General Motors decided to kill it last year as it collapsed into bankruptcy, had been in decline for years. It was undone by a combination of poor corporate strategy and changing driver tastes. On Oct. 31, GM's agreements with Pontiac dealers expire.

Following successful testing on Wednesday (27th October), where Weston Racing rolled out their AA/Dragster for the first time this season, and completed back to back five second passes, the Weston Racing Team were once again prepared to prove they had the right calibre to better the Australian National Record for their class.
