AERO Racing is a Perth based drag racing team specialising in Sport Compact drag racing. The team presented two race cars this season for racing – Paul Carey’s wild Lexus powered RX-7 competing in Supercharged Outlaws, and Brad Morris’s turbo rotary powered RX-7 competing in Group 2 Super Compact.

The 2011 Nitro Champs has not gone to plan with the inclement weather that has been hitting the Western Sydney area; however, the PRE Motorsport/Goldfingers Gentlemen’s team did manage to make two runs on Saturday. The latter of the two runs was cancelled due to the session not being completed and the second qualifying session will be re-run Sunday morning.

In 2010 the drag racing season at Darwin's Hidden Valley Drag Strip was shortened to accommodate a multi-million dollar facilities upgrade.

With a spectacular feature event to farewell the old strip it was only fitting to have an equally memorable event to welcome in the new strip in 2011.

Terry Sainty is looking to win his second Nitro Champs title at Sydney Dragway this weekend (Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1).

Sainty previously won the Nitro Champs when the event was held at the neighbouring Eastern Creek Raceway prior to the opening of the Sydney Dragway.

Rapisarda Racing will field three cars in Top Fuel at this weekend's Nitro Champs, at Sydney Dragway from Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1.

All three cars will be driven by past Nitro Champ winners, defending champion, Mark Mariani, Allan Dobson, who won the event in 2007 and Terry Sainty, who won the Nitro Champs when the event was held next door at Eastern Creek Raceway.

Friday night sees the much anticipated return of the Beat the Heat Off Street Series at Hidden Valley Drag Strip. Completely revamped in late 2010 this will be the first time the new drag strip and timing system will be used in anger and there are sure to be plenty of records set on the new surface.
