Darren Morgan and the AEG Powertools/Hungry Jack’s Mildura Top Fuel team are poised for a strong continuation of the postponed Castrol EDGE Winternationals this weekend at Willowbank Raceway in Queensland.

Since attending the first run of the Winternationals on the June Long Weekend, the team has been working overtime to prepare the car – and the newly crowned ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel Champion can’t wait to get it down the strip.

The penultimate round of the Queensland Street Car One-Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series has been run and won at Benaraby Raceway near Gladstone, with a good crowd turning out for the event.

Dave Newcombe has become the first Pro Stock driver in Australia to record a time in the six second bracket during testing this morning for this weekend's Castrol EDGE Winternationals resumption at Willowbank Raceway.

Newcombe charged down the strip in a time of 6.994s at 194.8mph (313.5kph) during his test run.

ANDRA Pro Series Pro Stock has developed a reputation as being one of the tightest categories on the drag racing scene and spectators at the Castrol EDGE Winternationals re-run over the weekend of July 15-17 at Willowbank Raceway will see exactly why.

Australia's best Pro Stock racers are scheduled to return for the resumption of hostilities. The category has one test session and one qualifying session remaining and is the only category in Australian professional drag racing to run with a 'full 16 car field'.

The Castrol EDGE Winternationals Top Doorslammer field is set to explode when the categories’ heavy hitters return to Willowbank Raceway for the event’s continuation July 15-17.

From the outstanding field of Doorslammers that have nominated, four drivers are still in with a shot at winning the ANDRA Pro Series Title. With just one session complete, it is going to be critical to record top times in the remaining two qualifying sessions on July 16.
