It was with sadness that ANDRA received news recently of the passing of former Northern Australia division director David Barrett.

Barrett was an influential part of racing in the northern regions of Australia and was integral in getting more up and coming racers to participate in a higher level in the sport. He was a racer in Super Street and loved the companionship and social aspect of drag racing.

The funeral service for David Barrett will be held this Friday, the 24th of February 2012 at 10am. The service will be undertaken at Whitsunday Funerals, 55-57 West Street, Bowen, QLD. Afterwards, the wake will be held at the Grandview Hotel, Bowen. All are welcome to attend both the service and wake.

The Barrett family wish to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.

Racers are advised that VP Racing Fuels now have stock of PSX-AU fuel.

Teams should contact VP Racing Fuels for more information.

Following discussions between racers, VP Fuels and the ANDRA National Rules Committee, the use of PSX-AU fuel in competition will be the Sydney event to be held on March 24 and 25.

ANDRA technical manager Steve Power said it was decided that it was in the best interest of ANDRA licence holders to delay the commencement date until March 24 for use of PSX-AU at ANDRA sanctioned events.

“PSX-AU will be permitted for use in competition from ANDRA Pro Series and Rocket Allstars Racing Series round at Sydney Dragway and at all ANDRA sanctioned events after this date for the duration that PSX-AU is homologated with ANDRA,” he said.

PSX-AU will be permitted for use by ANDRA competitors for dyno testing purposes, during test and tunes and private track hire events once it has been released onto the Australian market. This will give those racers wishing to use PSX-AU ample time to perform dyno and track testing.

This release date for VP Racing Fuels PSX-AU is scheduled for February 10, 2012, but this arrival date could be delayed for a number of reasons and as such the proposed date may be amended by ANDRA should it be necessary, such as if the delay is deemed excessive.

For more information about the introduction of PSX-AU, racers can contact Steve Power on (08) 8271 5355 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
